Charity Concert "For Australia"5 February 2020
A special charity concert Artists of the Krakow Opera For Australia is an expression of our involvement in helping the continent consumed by fire as well as its suffering people and animals. The Marshal of the Krakow Province, Witold Kozłowski, took honorary patronage over the event.
Although fires are frequent in Australia, they became particularly dangerous this year by affecting the forest-covered and more densely populated southern part of the continent. The flames are estimated to be destroying an area of nearly 6 million ha (it is as if 30% of Poland’s area burned down). Until the fires are over, the citizens and services facing the remorseless element and its tragic consequences will have to fight a difficult and costly battle. Help is much needed.
The Krakow Opera Management has reached Nicholas Moore, Chairman of the Sydney Opera House in Australia. He expressed his gratitude and took patronage over this event, saying that it was a wonderful gesture during the very difficult time for many Australian communities.
Donation tickets priced at PLN 50 to PLN 150 can be purchased from the Opera's Box Office. We would like to kindly inform that tickets for this event will not be available online. Payment in cash only.
Proceeds from the sale of donation tickets will be transferred to the Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund of the Australian Red Cross via the Polish Red Cross.
Tickets can be purchased from the Krakow Opera's Box Office (also during intervals in performances and concerts staged before 15 February 2020).
