KRAKOW OPERA BALLET
The ballet show “Emotions” twirls back to our stage, in a new rendering. “Emotions 2017” was prepared by two choreographers: Violetta Suska and Eduard Bablidze, with dancers from the Krakow Opera Ballet. The performance uses the language of dance to speak of emotions, feelings, and relationships.
For the first section, we will be treated to Eduard Bablidze’s “Accord” set to Arvo Pärt’s “Fratres” and to “...Where do the naked stars stay...” set to the music of Johannes Brahms, choreographed by Violetta Suska. The latter features fragments of Brahms’ “Violin Concerto in D Major,” “Violin Sonata No. 1 in G Major,” “Serenade No. 2 in A Major,” “Intermezzo in A Major Op. 118,” and compositions of sound effects by Jędrzej Rusin. Several ballet miniatures will be arranged to the music, telling stories of loneliness, passion, grief, and difficult choices in love.
The second section is entirely devoted to tango. Dance is an expression of the feelings and emotions present in tango, such as love, passion, jealousy, or desire. We will watch Eduard Bablidze’s “El Abrazo” with music composed by Przemysław Treszczotka — a violinist with the Baltic Opera Orchestra. He has also authored, among others, the music for Roman Komassa’s “Tango life” show.
